Saturday the 29th was not just for Halloween parties in the Southern Pacific Area of Costa Rica. The first annual SoCosta Surfari/Pura Vida Hook Up Surf Competition took place at Playa Hermosa in Uvita. Registration and early risers were on the beach before 7 AM and the crowds continued to arrive as the surf competition lasted past 3 PM.
Osa Mountain Village sponsored the "Expression Session"
Surfers came from all over the Pacific Coast to participate in 7 different divisions ranging from ’juniors’ to ‘body boarding’. But the category that took the grand prize was labeled the “Expression Session’, which only allowed for 8 participants. Osa Mountain Village was the main sponsor of this competition awarding the winner of the Expression Session $100. The winner, David Herrera, is shown in the photo during the award ceremony.
