Something to Look Forward to. . .

On this last day of 2011, we all are very busy getting ready for the new year.  We may be doing some last-minute tax work or we might be organizing our closets, kitchen and other areas of our home to make sure everything is just right for 2012.  Planning a big party for tonight or are you just going to relax with your family watching the crystal ball fall in Times Square?

In the latino community, this point in time is indeed a very big ordeal. .getting their homes all squeaky clean, bed sheets changed and the windows washed. .all in the name of being ready for an amazing, prosperous new year.

There is a comfortable anticipation today.  A look ahead for an awesome future that is indeed in store for all of us. . something to look forward to.

My father once told me when I was very young that the key to happiness is very simple. .always have something to look forward to.  It doesn’t have to be anything grandiose or totally life-changing.  But never, never go through a day that you are not looking ahead with anticipation, joy and wonder.  Because, he said, when you have this feeling surrounding you, it generates a springboard which can enlighten your senses.  It is like a fertile plot of land that is able to provide nutrients to grow any type of crop.

I ask that you simply hold on to the feeling that you have today and carry it along with you in 2012. .never let it go, even for a minute!

I wish you, your friends and your family the best ever in 2012.

                                                                                                                                                                       . . .Skip
