The master plan for Osa Mountain Village was originally conceived by The Kubala Washatko Architects, Inc.. They were chosen for their experience in sustainable, green development. In 2007 TKWA achieved a 61-point LEED© Platinum Rating for their design of the The Leopold Legacy Center, the highest rating to date measured by the US Green Building Council.
The master plan they conceived for Osa Mountain Village called for a total of 260 Condos, Cabinas and Casitas within the community. After careful consideration by the development team it was decided to reduce this number to 160 residences. Couple that with 25 home sites in Amelia’s Estates on the upper elevations of the property and you come to a total of around 185 potential residences. The primary reason for the reduction was to ensure food security for the community. We would also like to point out that our ecological footprint is less than 2% of our 759 acres. That leaves approximately 740 acres of private reserve for everyone to enjoy. Click on the master plan image to open a larger version in a new browser window.
